| Hello, I'm Michael Macaluso. As a young man raised in New York, I studied photography and fine art, leading me to develop an interest in Interior Design. After I received my bachelor’s degree in 1980, I spent the next five years in training along side the talented Herb Blauert and John Zecheil, as well as other notable designers. I was involved in numerous residential and commercial design projects in New York City, the New Jersey suburbs, metropolitan Washington D.C., the Virginia country side, and the Florida coast. In 1985, I was drawn to the California lifestyle, and design disciplines that are quite eclectic and free flowing. I relocated to Los Angeles and immediately started working in the home building industry, designing show homes. After six years, I opened my own firm, Macaluso Interiors, that today is Macaluso Designs, Inc. Since beginning my career in 1980, I have received numerous nominations and awards for design excellence from my peers and industry associations, and accolades from clients.
